I'll have MonPoc, and Journeyman on Saturday. I'm thinking of maybe reserving the room if I can get it for Sunday and running some practice Steam Roller games. Those of you who have been timing your turns and running scenarios know why we need to practice this. 7 minute turns are not very long.
Also, a quick reminder, Week 4 we are running Caster/Warlock swaps, if you so choose.

Ugh, 7 minute turns are brutal! Hopefully my Steamroller build will just naturally allow me to play faster.

I would recommend one unit and a couple solo's to run with your battlegroup. Anything more, and you will run out of time on some of your turns I guarantee it. Once you've practiced a bit, you might be able to squeeze in another unit.
Another thing is that you should be planning your next phase during your opponents turn. This I have found to be key. You can't sit back and relax with 7 minute turns, you have to be always thinking, and always adjusting your plan. I've had a little more practice at it, but even so, I run out of time on my turns constantly.
Lastly, don't switch your lists too soon. Keep the same list, get 10 games in with it or so and analyze how it's working for you. Adjust as needed after that.

Yeah, having to keep the battle-box makes things a little harder, it's naturally more models, models I might not use in a full list. It's also points I could be using on other things.

I`ll be down in Iwakuni again this weekend if anyone wants to get in a game with Trollbloods. I got my Bomber painted yesterday, so I`ll probably try it out this weekend. Gannon and I have have been practicing 7 minute timed-turns (for Steamroller) and it has been a blast! I hope to get in more practice. I`m looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Looking forward to playing you! After I end Twitch's winning streak, of course!

...After I end Twitch's winning streak, of course! I'd be happy to help with that if he'd ever play against me...

After we finish our 25-point WarmaHordes battles, any one want to try some Monsterpocalypse? I and Gannon will be running another demo/intro of this game (or possibly two games if there is enough interest). People with armies, bring them and get some playing time in. People who are completely new to the game, you can use mine (Gannon`s army). 2,3, and even 4 player games are easy to set up in Monpoc.

Bad news, no rooms were available for Sunday, but we'll figure something out, my work is a candidate, although a bit out of the way, it's still on base and I can get some tables set up relatively easy. I'll need terrain though. Only an option, lets talk more about it.

I just want to say thank you again to everyone for letting me play with you. I really had fun and got a lot of great games in (4 WarmaHordes and 3 Monpoc battles in two days). I wish everyone luck in their remaining journeyman league games. Everyone seems to be getting the hang of scenario and timed turns, so I don`t think it`ll be a problem. I`ll see you guys again in a month (at the Steamroller Tournament!)!

Great games guys, I got in more games this past weekend than I've had in probably the last month and a half, and it will probably top my "most games played over a weekend" list for a long time. Well at least until August (GENCON here I come!).
Notes:
Just, You did better than you think in the timed turns format. Think more about what you are going to do during your opponents turn. It's a mind set brother, you can do it, I know it.
Andrew, Good games, I'll have my revenge soon!
Roy, Good games, both of them. It was a lucky hit from my Lancer (free strike vs your cav model) that kept me from being utterly destroyed I think. We'll have a re-match soon, we're 1 and 1 now!
Brad, It always seems that we don't get to play eachother. Lets set a game first think on the 2nd. 35 points, Killing Fields or Kill Box, timed turns.
Rob, Those Menoth are nasty suckers. Use that Crusader to pound face (other heavies) Especially on Kreoss' feat turn. Repenter vs. Infantry is great, maneuver to cover the most models.
Marcus, Tough break on those Mages man, I rolled just enough to wipe the unit, and just enough to kill all of them. Be on the look out for that next time.
Dan, I'll have my revenge, and will position myself better next time to keep you from throwing me into my own shit. Ultra Laser Knight is a beast!
To All, Timed turns as you can see are very quick and with the over all game clock, you HAVE to move fast, and know your army. Study your rules, study the scenarios, and most of all, have fun! Remember our adage, "Exercise your mind, not your thumbs!" Also, the Subterran faction is still up for sale, 6k yen. Good stuff!
Until next time!
