Been looking at a few options for Grey Knights. Grey Knights (Strike and Terminator Squads) are both cheap and awesome, while the other part of the army, the Inquisitorial Henchmen Warbands, cannot easily be overlooked.
170 pts for the BS3 version of an Imperial Guard Stormtrooper Squad with 3, yes 3 plasma guns...Then there is the Flak Armored Storm Bolter Squads... 10 Storm Bolters (obviously put in cover) for 70 points. There are other little options that will eat up points slowly, and not be very effective... but they will act as thorns (I believe) that can tailor the outcome of battles...
My question is: Where does one draw the line between effective troops and effective fodder?
Being used to playing Marines, the whole army is effiective troops. From what I see, the whole IG foot soldier army is effective fodder... now I get a chance to mix and match... but I dont really know how to step on this one.
(Don't get me wrong, I will BUY ALL of the models because I am collecting addict)
Does anyone have armies that have similar properties?
Your thoughts ICGC.

The key is using the unit for what is made to do. making a shooty unit CC is bad, while an all rounder fight a dedicated unit is also bad. do what you pay them to do. Just like yourself, making a thing do something it is not meant to do is an exercise in controlling failure. the best one can hope for is a dead even, winning in that situation is a pipe dream (and a heavy one at that).
