Our Rosters:
Black Templars
-Emporers Champion (HQ)
-6 Crusader Squads with either a Lascannon or Plasma Cannon and Plasma Gun
-2 Basic Sword Brethren infiltrators with Multi Melta
Vow: Abhor the witch
Chaos Space Marines
-Abaddon the Despoiler
-2x 10 Khorne Berzerkers
Battle 1: Against the Daemonzilla/Space Marine list. This was going to be an interesting battle right from the start. 5 Monstrous creatures with 4 wounds each..., then long range heavy weapons. Our thought process was moving the vital equipment, but it should have been concntrated on capturing the middle of the field. I take that hit on myself because I know objectives are more important then killing opponents. It was just that we were bogged down on our right flank by Chaos Monsters. Roy forced me into TONS of tricky leg work to ensure he did not get any charges. It was a rough mission... but again Roy and Richard beat us out because we did not complete any of the missions... and they were able to Quarterback sneak their vital objective through.
Battle 2: Against the Blood Angel/Tau list: For this battle, and what we intended to do, was to get out army into close combat ASAP. That just did not work out as planned because (A) I gave up the heavy cover saves to the opponent and (B) we spread our forces too thin. All personel should have moved every turn into the enemy zone. 64 Space Marines.... again a huge failure on my part. However, we got separated and piece-mealed, and it was bad.
Battle 3: Against Steve and Brian... just an amazing battle. We were flooded by two drop pods right off the bat, and had to deal with lightning and heavy weapons. In the end it was solely the work of the Chaos marines that won the day... my Templars being wholly ineffective. Steve and Brian won in the end, but I learned alot of lessons about gun line deployment and providing accurate fire support for the Berzerkers...
Just a summary of battle
Enjoy
