Battlefleet Gothic is a starship combat game, and focuses around the incursion of the "Gothic Sector" by fleets under the command of Abaddon the Despoiler, and the subsequent campaign by the Imperium to restore order, also known in the mythos as the Gothic War. Battlefleet Gothic is also the Imperial Naval formation after which the game is named and which is a major protagonist in much of the supporting fiction. BFG is a Warhammer 40k game set in space. It was released by Games Workshop in 1999 to great reviews. The rules are now OOP but are available on GW's website. The models are still sold by GW and Forgeworld. As of June 2009, the following fleets are available: Imperial Navy (representing Battlefleet Gothic) Chaos (representing Abaddon and his allies' fleets) Ork Pirates Eldar pirates Space Marines Ork Waaagh! fleets Craftworld Eldar Dark Eldar Raiders Tau Empire (including Demiurg, Nicassar and Kroot ships as well as Tau vessels) Tyranid Hive Fleets Necron Raiders As of June as well, the following club members have fleets: Andrew - Necrons Eric - Orks BFG is a great game requiring much forethought and tactical skill. It is also very easily integrated into a 40k campaign. If anybody has any questions or wants a demo, please let me know RULES www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?categoryId=cat1290343&aId=4300022

I want to get into this game so bad! Sadly I may be leaving by the end of this month.... (Hmm that's the second time I have heard that..) The Nid fleet rules look awesome. I can't get the basic or advanced rules to download so I can read them Any way I can get a copy of them from someone?

Its not hard really, Everything is based off the smaller flying bases. At one point with my friends back home, our battle sizes outgrew our collections so we used numbered cardboard discs with arrows..
EDIT: I'd be down to run something proxied if you want at the next regular game day. I remember most things pretty well. We can do a small cruiser on cruiser engagement.. Keeps things really simple and pretty much learns you all of the basic rules. Somewhere I have counters I could print out too.

Firestorm Armada is a far superior game. I'll be getting back into this after the tournament.
