Hello fellow Gamers,
I am interested in having some fun while gaming. Hopefully I can meet up with everyone at he next gathering. I see that you might be going to Fukuoka next weekend, maybe I can meet everyone next time.
I am a veteran gamer who likes miniature gaming (40K, WarMachine, Battle-tech, etc...), RPGs (D&D, Shadowrun, etc...), and would play Magic the Gathering if you twisted my arm. Additionally, I am a big fan of tabletop board games if you just have an afternoon to play. I prefer to play for fun and will try to not get too competitive unless asked to be. I have been out of the loop for a couple of years and may need to catch up to the latest editions.
My wife and I are currently stationed here (live on base) for the next 2 to 4 years. I am a civilian, but was stationed here before as an active duty Marine. I will be going TDY to the states soon, let me know if I should grab some of my 40k or WM Armies, or other gaming materials.
Respectfully, Rob Schroeder

Hi Schroeder, Welcome back to the area. The meta here is pretty much only Warmachine, and a large portion of that is at satellite locations in Hiroshima and Fukuyama. Fukuoka also has a group down there, but it's a bit far to drive.
If you're looking for non-competitive play, then you're very lucky. Typically we are a pretty light hearted and easy going bunch. I find that you should have fun while playing these games since it is a past time and a way to rid yourself of stress. There are a few things that we like to enforce, one of them being timed turns (once you get enough games under your belt) and painting. While painting is not a requirement, many of us in the area have fully painted armies, and only play with painted models. Timed turns are good for many of us to keep us tactically sharp and to keep game play going at a reasonable pace.
You should definitely grab your Warmachine stuff if you didn't bring it along since we will be planning local meetings here pretty soon. Some other games you should look into for our meta are Mantic's Dreadball sci-fi football game, and Hawk Wargames Dropzone Commander 15mm. Many of us have armies for these other two games, and we plan on running a Dreadball league later in the year. One of our local players invested in the last Dreadball Kickstarter, and got all 16 teams, so when that comes in he will have some available for sale if you'd rather wait.
I guess that's about it. I'll PM you my phone number so you can add it to your contacts list. Shoot me a message when you get it and I'll be able to keep you informed about upcoming official and unofficial meetings.
Rgds, PG Gannon
