So the GW Siren is calling out to me again. Just when I think I've broken the big bad games company's grip on my life, they tempt me with new shinys!
Dark Vengance is the name of the new 40K starter set and leaked photos have been sighted all around the interwebs. Check out the various rumor websites to find more info. Box contents:
48 Figures Rulepack Dice Measurers Templates MSRP: $99.00
Horus Heresy: Forge World announced last week that they will be releasing a Horus Heresy book this Fall. I for one will probably be breaking my GW embargo to buy this book. According to Ead Brown (Creative Director of FW) the book series will go into the unforseeable future, and follow a different rule set for fighting during the 30th millenium. Keep an eye out for more information, as I'll be watching this one closely. Now to decide which Pre Heresy Space Marine Legion I want to play...

Yup, I knew you would come back As much as I tried to stay away, 6th edition is just to damn good for me to stay back. As for the Horus Heresy stuff...wow. Ive been reading the books and am very excited to see some of these characters in model form.

Well according to Ead Brown, once again from an interview by Blue Table Painting on youtube, the game system will be totally different, and posisbly not compatible with 6th. That is the way I understood it, but I could be wrong here. Still I am excited to see how it goes, and hopefully the GBP will drop low enough to validate a large purchase of models from Forge World. Otherwise I'll just be getting the books. The background is just too rich, and technically I've been getting books from Black Library so fiction purchases I don't count...
Many stores have the pre-order for Dark Vengance up all ready. I'm pretty sure you can go to THEWARSTORE.COM and order it now, scheduled release date is Sept. 8th, I've yet to see the contents of the full set, but being 48 models strong, I can only assume a vehicle/walker, two squads, HQ unit, and some type of fast attack/elite for each side.

Hrmmm. It wouldn't really bother me if it wasn't compatible, I just want the models I dont think I will be picking up the new box set as I don't play either army. Although the models look amazing. As much as I harsh on GW, they can make some great looking plastic models. They really should have changed everything to plastic instead of that finecast crap... Talk on the interwebs is that GW is making a push to allow forgeworld into all games. Just warp rumors though...

I can definitely see that happening. I thought they had all ready started allowing FW into their regular game. It only makes sense. A lot of times the FW rules seem like they're playtested more than the regular armies, and more balanced.
Word on the streets is that Angron will be in the first book, and two other Primarchs as well. The first book "Betrayal" is due out next month for UK Games Day. I'm excited to see the book and fluff, not sold on actually getting back in the game yet. I've got enough Warmachine to last me a good while, and I just got more stuff in the mail (guilty look).

Alan Bligh, you are my hero. I meant to post this when I saw it over the weekend, but I got so excited I forgot.
So who else is down to sell their first born and buy some Forge World Heresy models?
