Hi all!
Ive played a fair amount of 6th edition games since the release and have prepared an army list for an upcoming 1750 pt tourny in San Diego. Let me know what you think.
Yes, I know... desperate allies. I'm not including points costs because I'm at work and cant remember everything off the top of my head.
1 x Archon (2+ invul, poison blade, soul trap, combat drugs) 9 x Incubi Raider (flickerfield, aether sails)
10 x Warriors (Dark lance) Raider (flickerfield)
10 x Warriors (Dark lance) Raider (flickerfield)
10 x Warriors (Dark lance) Raider (flickerfield)
3 x Jet bikes (with the melta thingy) 3 x Jet bikes (with the melta thingy)
1 x Ravager (darklances, flickerfield, night shroud)
Allies:
Ork warboss (claw and boss pole)
30 x boys (3 shootas) 30 x boys (3 shootas)
The orks and their boss are purely designed to charge up the middle and cause chaos. Since they cant take or contest, they are pure fodder. This (hopeully) will allow the DE to dance around, take objectives and just be annoying. The Archon and his incubi do the same they always have (for those who have played my DE): find the biggest, beefiest unit and hunt it down.

Looks good! Actually, I have no idea. I haven't played a game of 40k in months, and sold all my 40k armies.
From what I've read, flyers are crazy OP in this edition. It may the the "new and shiny" effect, but (once again only what I've read) you may want to get some kind of building in that list? I'm not sure exactly how it works, but the flak cannon or something like that seems to be the beef.
Then agian I don't know the meta in your area, or if Flyers are popular. The Dark Eldar ones seem pretty good though, you may want to take advantage of the fact that some other factions don't have dedicated flyers yet...
Ork Boyz make great Tarpits now, I can see them taking a bigger part in allied games. Throw them at the stuff you don't think you'll be able to handle very well or want to save for later (objectives are good). Good on you for taking the Nobs out, they'll just get challenged, and wiped off the field by Power Axe Space Marine Sgts. Maybe give your boss a Big Choppa and Attack Squig instead? I don't know man. Good luck and let us know when you start playing some Warmachine!

Ya, flyers are pretty awesome now, but its just a fad until more units get skyfire.
Got a chance to play test this list last night against my buddies guard. Went well, almost tabled him. The orks take ALOT of shots to kill, and thats all they are there for. Tourny is end of the month, so we shall see.
Also thinking about entering the socal slaughter next month... the big boys.

Nice. I must say I had pretty much lost interest in 40K, until the semi-"teaser" trailer came out for the Horus Heresy. That has the back of my brain stirring with ideas of an all Forgeworld army... Which would probably still be cheaper than one bought from GW. And yes I do know they are the same company.

I had lost interest in 40k as well. With the Warmahordes scene here getting extremely competitive, Im starting to lean towards 40k a little more. I went into a couple shops and played some warmachine, but it seems like its a "play to win" mind set. I just want to play for fun... maybe its just the socal attitude. I still do not like GW (and the prices) but with 6th edition, it seems they might be listening to the players. The new edition is falling towards a more cinematic game as opposed to a tournament game, which I like. And yes.. Horus Heresy is going to be epic! Expensive... but epic. As for my list above, I am going against my sacred oath and am going to purchase some GW models. Just one actually, a ork flyer. Add that in and I should be able to do semi-well. Im just there to have fun though, so its all gravy

From what I've heard, if you're going to go flyers, you should do two Dakka Jets. 260 points I believe, but their shots are at BS 3 due to twinlinked shooting.
I've got no inkling to get back into 40k, our scene here is semi-competitive, but I've beaten Chagear a couple of times now, so I think I'm getting better.

Also quick question for Andrew,
How long did it take you to get your Battlefoam Bag?

My wife got it for me for my birthday that year. I asked her and she said it took about 2 weeks.

I guess they're back logged then. I've been waiting since the 6th and it still hasn't been shipped. They did say it would take about 3 weeks to ship though. I read that in fine print today on the invoice they sent me.

I was able to pick up one of the DE flyers on the cheap from Bartertown. So ill be cutting out a couple incubi and a set of jet bikes. Im going to take the basic flyer with 4x missiles. The ones that force a toughness test = insta death. It also has 2 dark lances. We will see how it goes!
Tourny got pushed to next month, so I have a little time to paint/test my list.
