Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen,
Just a quick post to display interest and seek out sympathetic minds...
I enjoy Roleplaying (Warhammer 2nd Ed, d20, White Wolf, Kult), boardgaming (Twilight Imperium, Hammer of the Scots, Arkham Horror, Space Hulk, Battlestar Galactica, etc), miniatures (Warhammer, Warmachine, Flames of War, DBA, Battletech), and a few card games (Warhammer Invasion, Magic, L5R).
That being said, I'm always on the lookout for people to play with/against. As for the miniatures, I did not bring any with me, as it was more pragmatic at the time to store them. Same for my RPG books (a box of books weighs a bit much to take on a plane). Did bring Twilight Imperium (with Shattered Empires, a must), Hammer of the Scots, and some Warhammer Invasion, however.
I can also bring another interested party, adding Conquest of the Empire to the table as well.
I love painting miniatures, though I'm far from excellent, and used to work at a gaming store in Tacoma, WA. 75% off of products you agree to hold tournaments for was a great deal that I still miss...
Thank you for your efforts in organizing this. I hope to capitalize on it soon.

The Game Matrix (where else?). It's located on South Tacoma Way, across from the Taco Bell near Steilacoom Blvd. Chances are, you already know where it is.

Welcome Lochmacher! It's good to see a new person on the boards to bring in a new year. If you fancy Ultramarines you can always use my Club army I have. Most of us are avid gamers and sometimes painters. Hopefully you can pass some good tips along. As far as boardgames are concerned, you can bring whatever you'd like, although the first few game days of next year will be dedicated to our Warmachine/Hordes Journeyman league, I'm sure there will be plenty of guys available to put some dice to board with you. This may be a good time to get started on that faction you always wanted to try as well!
Say, do you guys have Taco Time there? I loved that place when I was in the Hermiston (OR) area to visit my mom. I used to live in Idaho and they had them there too.

Thank you for the greetings.
We do have Taco Times in WA. One is just down the road from the afore-mentioned store.
As for the GW presence at the store, why split the pool of available players? Even when I worked there, I still went to the GW store to play. They are the specialists and you knew that there were always pick-up games to play. Also, it helps to get away from the hygiene-impaired gamers. Why, given a choice between a new book or deoderant they always opted for the book, I will never know. . .
I've been toying with starting a new army, so I think it might be time to do just that. That just leaves the question of what I feel like painting. . .
I'll probably drop in on the January kick-off to meet everyone and watch a few games. Might motivate me to get back into WM.

That would be great man, luckily you won't have to worry about gamer funk here. All of our guys are hygiene approved and a good group of gamers to be around.
We focus on the beer and pretzels aspect of the hobby rather than competitive. You'll find that most of us would rather have a pick up game or do some painting than take part in a Tournament. We do hold tournaments about two to three times a year or so though, so hopefully that will quench your cometitive bug.
