Ok, so heres the deal. I need to know whether the 22nd or the 29th will work better. Not sure about 242's plans at that time. Post here which would be better for you.

Either for me bro. I REALLY need the rules for the painting contest though. It's going to determine what I go with.

So... I have a statement/question. Ref. Single Model Painting.
For the single model painting contest, this isn't a golden demon. I think most of our club-mates have entry level painting experience at best. I mean its great to take pride in a well painted model, but I don't think we should have to worry about iconic displays or cool towering pillars with moss decorated all over them. What will be the format and judging rules for this event?

I've got word from 242 that they should be back for either one of those days. but the 29th would probably be a better day, just in case they get stuck where their going.

Ok. Im putting the 22nd out as the day of the tourny. Looks like that will get us the most people (as of right now). As for the painting tourny rules:
1. All models must be painted by the person entering into the tournament.
2. It does not have to be 40k. Want to paint a Fantasy model? Go for it! BB? Sure!
3. You must be present and enrolled in the tournament to be eligible to participate.
4. Size will be small to medium. That means any model that, by the rules, fits on a small or medium size base is acceptable. No vehicles will be accepted. If there are any questions on if your model will be accepted, please contact the tournament organizer before hand.
5. The model does not have to be part of the army you are playing with in the tourny.
6. You will be judged by your peers and by the tourny judge (ME!). All entries will be set on a seperate table and given a number. Every participant will be given a ranking sheet. All models will be RANKED on the following:
a. Skill of paint job. b. Originality c. Overall presentation (yes, bases and backgrounds are allowed and will be scored). No other models are allowed in your background. I. E. No dioramas.
7. Participants will not rank their own model on their sheets. You will only be judging the other models entered.
If there are any questions, please let me know. This is a first for our club, so lets get painting!

Yes, the rules are out. Now we just need to know the tourny rules. My scheming is going to take time. It takes planning to lose as well as I do.

Its a seperate event. The single model paint compitition will not have anything to do with the 40k tourny. BUT! You armies paint job will be compiled into your total score for the tourny

• Armies will consist of 1850 points using a standard force organization chart. • The Warhammer 40,000 5th Edition Rules will be used. • The AdeptiCon INAT FAQ will be used (Updated 03.09.10). • Individual units that may have multiple rules versions will follow the rules presented in that army's codex. Yes, this means a Black Templar Land Raider will function differently than a standard Space Marine Land Raider. Please take the time to review the relevant GW FAQ's for clarifications. • Special/Unique/Named Characters may be fielded, provided their individual rules allow them to be used in armies of 1,850 pts or less. • The 'What You See Is What You Get' (WYSIWYG) rule is in effect. That means all units must be easily identifiable as the particular codex choice they represent and that any and all weapons/options taken for a unit must be clearly represented on the model(s). • You must provide access to your own rules (which includes the Codex used for your army), dice, templates, pen/pencil, calculator, or anything else you'll need during the course of regular play. • A separate printed army list is required for the judges and each of your opponents. • In order to keep the tournament running on schedule, when time is called for a round, all player's must drop the dice and stop playing - no exceptions. Because of this, please be aware of the time left in the round and do not start a turn you cannot finish. A hard warning will be issued with 15 minutes remaining in the game. NO Game Turn shall be started after this warning is issued, period. • The Tournament Judge’s rulings are final.
Scoring breakdown to follow
