Perusing through Codex Space Wolves I crossed the entry for the Lone Wolf. I was amazed at the amount of options this 20 point Independent Character gets. Now granted he's not really an IC, but damn with all the options of one.
Let's focus on one aspect and option load out for this wild man:
Lone Wolf -Terminator Armor -Chain Fist -Storm Shield 85 points
So what does this get us? A super tank busting, monster slaying, psychopath that won't let anything get in his way.
Survivability is not an issue with this guy. He's got Fearless, Feel No Pain, Eternal Warrior and Re-rolls all to hits on Walkers, MC's, and Toughness 5 or more models. Use these guys for Tank Hunting if someone let's him get close enough. Three S8 +2D6 armor pen is no joke. Point him at a Dreadnought and let him go. Even a Carnifex is going to have trouble getting through the 3+ Invul. from the SS. Plus if he dies and you're playing a KP game, you don't have to worry, he doesn't give up KP's.
Just something to think about. Anyone else have any suggestions on how to effectively load out this model?

That is one of the better uses. A Storm Shield is almost required to use him effectively given the fact that he likes to fight big stuff. Just remember that if he does not die in a KP game then at the end of the match he gives your opponent a point because he failed at ending his saga (life).

This is true. You can't expect to have all that goodness and no downside. Good thing is you'll only be playing Kill Points 1/3 of the time, so it's a decent bet you won't have to worry about it. If so, then just send him at the biggest nastiest things in their army and watch the carnage. This model is not a win button though, you have to use him carefully to gain the full benefits.

Sounds like a giant pain in the ass cheese-filled armor that is typical of the Space Wolves. I'm surprised Steve hasn't used this yet......why do we give him ideas?

I'd love to do something like this for each army, I think I'll look through Codex DA next. If anyone else is down for this let me know.
