well he saw his first game today against nids,
ripped thru raveners, a mawlock and f'd up some steelers. i had to leave at turn 5 or he would have ripped into the warriors the guy had too.
note to Doom players. its abilities are nice but putting it in front of thousand sons csm isnt a smart idea. they can survive what it dishes and can hand much more back at it. Doom lasted 1 turn and then died. i didnt even get to assault it....

That is one sweet modal you made there. I really like how you combined the DP pieces and the flamer idea. If you don't mind me stealing your idea I might do something like that for my deamon army.

go for it dude! would be really interesting to see with the new plastic dp model. this one used the older metal upper body and arms. i took a plastic tube and heated it near the end to bend it to the general shape then glued it to the underside of the torso. then just started wrappin putty around. it. used some tamiya (which you guys can get over there in japan as i got it in a hobby store up in hiroshima last time i was there) quick type putty first to give the general shape then went over it with gs to be easier to work with for the details. good luck! like to see what you come up with.

Great work Grip, and nice update on his first battle against the Nids. I'll keep TS's in mind if I ever decide to play CSM's again.

another play update. played against tau last weekend with my TS. 2k game. was the other guys 1 game of that size so i tried to take it easy on him. annihilation and dawn of war for set up. he deployed first and put a line of kroot accross the middle of the board pushing me back which was fine by me. most of his remaining units except for another unit of kroot would come on turn 1.
i put out my sorcerer on bike, and a unit of TS in a rhino both behind a building.
everything else from my list except for 2 2-man units of oblits would come on turn 1 as well.
i stole the initiative. brought the dp in just left of center around some buidings. ran tanks and bikes up under cover of night fight and waited for t2.
t1 for the tau guy brought everything on. he tried to take out my bike sorcerer but failed. nothing else on his side could see me and his kroot in the center piled into a building in the middle of the board.
t2 for me saw one of the oblit squads come in in range for multimelta on the devilfish that tried to kill my sorc on bike. pop goes the devil fish. killed some kroot in shooting and then assaulted them with the dp. didnt have to worry about terrain as he hadnt been able to get them all into cover. dp did his thing and the kroot broke.
t2 for him saw him pile every bit of firepower he could into the dp as he was inthe open now. literally took everything he could throw at it but he killed him finally. didnt bother me. really scared him as i was within charge range of 34/ of his army with the dp.
t3 for me saw my bikers pop another devil fish and assault the squad that had been in them and the sorc on bike torch a fire warrior squad with wind of chaos. oblits on the table moved up to tl melta the imobilzied devil fish and kill it. ts squads moved up and rapid fired in his face taking out some pathfinders that were in cover.
t3 for him took out 3 ts from 3 different squads. he did a wound on the sorc on bike and immobilized one of my rhinos. one of my bikers died too.
at this point this is was was dead. tau - 2 devil fish, 2 sets of drones from the fish, 2 squads of warriors, 1 kroot squad ts - dp and 3 ts from 3 seperate squads and 1 csm bike
t4 saw my other oblits come in and i put them off a personal icon from a ts asp sorc right in his mid field. they popped his hq and drones. bikes took out another devil fish with melta fire. accidentally moved my sorc on bike too close to them and he couldnt fire on the broadsides like i wanted to. ts fired on the pathfinders making them break and they hit table edge. assaulted the drones that come off the dead fish this turn and killing them.
t4 saw his other kroot squad outflank in and they assaulted the 2 oblits on my left flank that were out of range of everything else. they did 1 wound to the oblits abut lost 3 in return. the passed morale and sat there. his broadsides took out another 2 ts but not enough to do anything else. his hammer head finally killed my dread on my right flank which really hadnt done anythign in the game so far. kroot and oblits in hth traded hits with another kroot dying. passed morale
end of t4 - 11 kill points for TS and 2 for tau
t5 - killed his broadsides and took out one of his remaining crisis suits, kroot lost a couple more in hth but passed morale again. TS moved towards his left flank to get in close to his last crisis suits and two tanks
he killed a few more ts brinking one unit down to just 1 guy left. kroot in hth finally broke and then were caught so were wiped out.
we had to stop here as the store was closing. all that was left on the tau side alive was 2 crisis suits, a hammerhead with rail gun and a hammer head with ion cannon. for TS there was the sorc on bike, csm bike squad, 3 units of Ts and thier rhinos alive (1 rhino was immoblized) and both oblit units.
was a wash for chaos. the tau guy could have quit much earlier but he wanted to keep going and we talked alot about strategy and what went well for him and how he could have changed some of what he did to survive longer. was a fun game over all and i hope he keeps working on his list. would enjoy playing him again.
