Warmachine is undergoing a make over with the release of Warmachine Mark II. You can get the free rules on their homepage so go there and download them. Check it out, or wait until the next game day. Sean and I will be having a re-match.
One thing I'm really commending Privateer Press on is their customer support. Privateer Press has released the Mark II rules test solely for the purpose of playtesting by the people that use it most... Us consumers! This has got to be one of the greatest move any Table Top Wargaming company has made. Free Main Rules and Army lists for everyone. PP seems to be learning from GW's mistakes.

I would love to learn how to play this game. Do you have an extra set I could play with on Sunday after your rematch?

Absolutely, I have a few extra Warcasters and models and I Sean has a few as well. Sean of course has a lot more invested in this game and has quite a few models. Shouldn't be too hard to get a game going for this.

Yeah! If you really want to learn we have the mark II rules, and I also have almost all the rule books for mark I. I have the latest one on the way from the states. So you could proxy the other armies as well if one suits your fancy more than Cryx or Cygnar.

These were released today on the Field test forum. and they are listed as temporary changes. Its also noted that they may or may not make it into the final version of mark II, but that we should field test them as well. There is also a rerelease of the core rules and stat cards with updates that fixed typos and whatnot.
Changes to the Mark II rules: Darius—Modify the Fortify spell to prevent Push and Slam effects. High Reclaimer, Testament of Menoth, and Reclaimer Solo – Change ability wording to allow gathering of souls from models destroyed by continuous effects. Idrians—Reduce unit point cost to 6 minimum/10 maximum. Assault Kommandos – Modify the Cumbersome rule to allow Assault & Battery to also function much like the old Fumigate order. Kovnik Markov—Add an ability to reroll failed command checks for his elite cadre. Vlad—Alter Wind Wall to affect non-magical ranged attacks instead of all ranged attacks. Terminus—Add the Pitch rule to the Scything Claw and change the target restriction of Ravager from a friendly warjack to a model in Terminus’ battlegroup. Defiler—Change RNG 10 to RNG SP. (woot its about time lol) Nightwretch—Add Powerful Attack to the Doomspitter. Hammerfall High Shields—Add the Combined Ranged Attack icon to their stat line. Press Gangers—Add the Tough icon to their stat line.

Awesome info, thanks for looking this up for us. Looks like Cryx got the most changes here. Karma +

Yeah because we got hit the hardest by mark II.. lol oh well. Most of those changes are for models I don't even own.. so it doesn't really matter to me that much. However the field test ends on may 9th I think then its back to Mark I until 2010.

Booo Mark I. You're going to have a hard time getting me to go back bro, I'll tell you that much now. I don't know why they would do that, make people learn a whole new way of playing and then go back to Mark I. I may have to retire my WM stuff until Mark II comes out in this case...

It wasn't mean to be here is free rules, it was This is what we are thinking of doing.. Field test this and cut our work down some and provide good ideas. There is still a whole year before those are released as official. We can use the same Core rules as was released with Mark II (los, point of impact, Formation etc.), but unit costs and abilities go back to mark I until the release. That way we get the best of both worlds. Or we switch off playing ever other game Mark I and II. I don't know. The only real diffrence is the victory points, (no mention how that works in Mark II yet.) and the points costs, and model abilities.
Hell if it makes you feel better I will even let you give your gun mages magic weapons in mark I games. Since they get them in mark II(and I guess they should be..) And on the bright side, alot of your units in Mark I are fearless... not so much in Mark II
but I suppose its up to you there G-man
