FIgure this is good to go to be put up here but its essentially my army thread. Painting/coverting/stories/army listing/etc. If it can go somewhere better feel free to move it but it cross-references at least 3 or so forums/sub-forums.
[Space Holder for epic intro or something cool to that effect.]

To do list: (Updated: 4/26/2011)
Drop Pods, and Assault Termies Primed.
Land Raider Paint Job I/W 60% completed.
Oh and prime some Devastators.
Then figure out how to restore two messed up but possibly salvageable Land Speeder Tornados. (Actually mostly salvageable just need some flying stands that will require pinning)
Convert a razorback into the LC/TLPG arrangement: Conversion begun, just need guns to finish
And I want to figure out what I want next. Probably price my Rifleman Dread.
Oh yeah and use the bits from 30 or so broken messed up Space Wolves to utilize my extra weapons from the Devvies box and maybe fill out another tacticool squad... (Tim what I don't use that you want is totally yours. I figure I need to salvage enough bits to make about 20 or less bro's, something like 7-10 for the devvies and 9-10 dudes for the tactical)
Man I need more foam for this stuff too...
Also managed to dig up through my old stuff to produce a Rhino that I can complete again (because of missing hatches) thanks to my Razorback kit and the remains of its tracks and a Chimeras (its gonna look weird but they are all I have, hopefully I have enough to make it work). Have to give the tracks a "try."
I also dug out my old SW Rune Priest that I'm debating what to do with (maybe model the Black Knight version of the Salmanders hero or something, heck I dunno).
I also have 5 Wolf Guard termies almost complete minus 2 missing bolter arms which are replaced by old plastic Death Wing arms. Only problem is I'm not big on the old Termie look anymore but I have ideas of converting them to my version of Sternguards or something to that effect.
Also gonna take the old 3rd Ed Captain Figure (apparently from 1999 lol) and convert him into a Librarian...
Some ways to recoup my old bits and pieces, just need lots of putty methinks...

Assault Squad Sturmflieger Apparently my attempt to lightly drybrush Beakie's "dripped" left eye didn't work well. Naturally with the very light coating of metallics I put on these guys when you photo them with bright light they seem to "gleam" a lot more. Also changed from Saturday since I realized I could field a Flamer in there... seems so "Assaulty". And also: I'm content with their non-flash look

As crazy as it is, I'm thinking of basing them in winter bases... since its easy as elmer's glue and baking soda and some white paint. But we don't usually fight in the snow.
But it seems the least work and I can play with it and make it awesome. I have lots of green grass type stuff but that just doesn't seem to fit... lol
And in my fluffing out of the army I was thinking of having them originating from frigid ice-world (ala Valhalla.)
Things to think about I guess, but its more important to get the painting done...

One of the things I was looking to post was a bitz needed post: 2x Plasmaguns Land Raider "Curve" Track pieces (or one long strip) Relic Blade Material (think Tim all ready offered me something sweet awesome) Oh wait... here's that bitz post! I'd like to finish my Land Raider tonight but I'm sick as the devil and actually find myself needing to lay down...

I'll try and remind myself to remind you.. Still sick... this sucks... I really wanted to finish some projects... But I got an interesting update fluffwise... Fleshed the Chapter out using the custom chapter rules in DeathWatch, so the Black Knights have a general demeanor and tactics...

Black Knights for Deathwatch: *=a randomized trait from die rolls, everything else was selected to fit the overall "feel" *Why they were founded: Counter to Orks *When was the Chapter founded: 34th Millennium *Progenitor Legion: Raven Guard *Gene-stock Purity: Pure *Gene-seed Mutations: None Chapter Characteristics: +5 Agility, +5 Weapon Skill (The chapter stresses melee combat as part of its doctrine as well as a degree of finesse) *Chapter Hero: Chapter Master *Hero's Deed: Bane of Orks (That oddly came out well) *Chapter Home World: Fleet Based (9 ships, the fleet is damaged/having complications) *Organization: Codex Chapter Combat Doctrine: Shock and Awe/Drop Pod Assault (Two "Doctrines" the former is serious orbital bombardment and planetary assault, the latter is a straight Drop Pod assault, being spaced based I figure they go hand in hand, the former makes them a liability as collateral damage can easily happen) *Solo Mode Abilities: "Quick Reaction" (special ability for Deathwatch characters acting alone) *Squad Mode Attack: "Storm of Hell" (Special squad mode for the attack, I believe this one is bolter happiness for an assault) *Squad Mode Defense: Swift Advance (Special squad mode for the defense, pretty much they move quickly and tactically through cover and stuff to close with their enemy, or just balls out charge) *Chapter Beliefs: The Emperor Above All (The Chapter worships the Emperor above a certain hero/event/primarch/etc) Chapter Status: Under Strength (Chosen to reflect my history of the various companies beaten and returning from battles with Nids, Orks, and a deployment to help break the Siege of Cadia) *Chapter Friends: Imperial Navy Chapter Enemies: Orks (Chosen for obvious reasons) Battle Cry: "Once a Knight is Never Enough!" (Stolen Squadron Motto) Custom-Chapter Advances: "Honour Thy Wargear" (a special list of skills/talents for Deathwatch characters to choose from, mostly perceptoin/exotic weapons/gear centric) This gives me a great base to fluff the "feel" of the Chapter and give them a personality of their own rather than being just Vanilla hum drum SM's. The Shock and Awe/Drop Pod are a throwback to the Raven Guard and apparently they are a much older chapter. Not quite what I was looking for but it makes things certainly interesting in terms of a Chapter history. Thankfully I rolled as being someone that wasn't the Ultrasmurfs... think I would have re-rolled that result

I love the Death Watch book. It's one of the greatest resouce books I've seen in a long time (maybe since GW's Index Astartes releases).

Dude if you like DW Rites of Battle is pure BA...
Can even take a mortally wounded DW and at the expense of a buttload of XP and other resources, turn him into a Dread... Of course this is an entirely new Roleplaying experience... Since its well known that the inhabitants of Dreads aren't... fully... there.
But yeah a majority of the random stuff actually turned this into something I want/like. Be prepared to see my Chapter Fleet fluffed out in the near future. Thinking Two Barges, 4 Strike Cruisers, 2 Support Vessels, maybe a Navy ship of some sort... Thinking a Mars-Class Battlecruiser. Its reason in teh fleet yet to be determined. Or maybe a Squadron of Frigates.. haven't decided...
But I'm gonna make the Black Knights at least interesting and I'm gearing up for this "shock and awe" awesomeness in an army list. Dunno how to get the shock and/or awe before the drop pod assault though....

Battle Barge Nox Eternus: Flagship for the Black Knights and home to the 1st, 4th and 6th Companies. Currently in transit to Cadia to join other Imperial Forces to assist the breaking of the siege there. Battle Barge Corax's Grace: The sister ship to the Nox Eternus the Grace is used by the 8th, 9th, and 10th Companies. The Grace and Nox Eternus always travel together as the former is used as the headquarters for the support companies. Given the Black Knights slightly different organization, any squad or members of the support companies can be tasked to one of the line companies of the Chapter. (More on this in a fluff based post) Strike Cruiser Velox Nomas: The Nomad is the home to the 2nd Line Company and is currently involved with a Tyranid splinter fleet in the Segmentum Ultima. The Nomad is often making rounds to various Imperial worlds in its area of operations in a desperate attempt to replace casualties suffered in the campaign. Knightmaster Azazel is close to recalling the 2nd Company and the Nomad and refitting them to be used as a reserve for Cadia. Strike Cruiser Wings of Flame: Currently damaged the Flame is assisting in the closing stations of Ork Cleansings on Ketnalle II. Concluding the campaign, it and the severely depleted 3rd Company will join the Raven's Talon and commence recruiting operations to replenish their numbers as well as taking cadre from the 7th Company and drydock the Flame to effect repairs to her battered frame. Strike Cruiser Might of Kromgol: The Kromgol (so named for the heroic Knightmaster of the past) is home to the 5th Company who have just finished recruiting operations and are being held in Chapter Reserve as the Guard Company of the Chapter, ready to be called upon to do any wish of the Knightmaster or to assist in the defense of the Knight's Errant.Strike Cruiser Raven's Talon: The Talon is the vessel currently home to the 7th Company. Having just assisted in quelling a Alpha Legion backed rebellion on Cantrare IV, the Talon is holding in orbit awaiting the Wings of Flame to join them. Nova Class Frigate Orkbane: A simple name for a simple ship who during Knightmaster Kromgol's epic campaign against the greenskins in M37, was responsible for the destruction of 5 Ork Kruisers in the span of 4 engagements. Two skillfully destroyed when Ship's Master Aralas had skillfully maneuvered the then Fury to gain a lance shot at the unshielded backside of a Kruiser which subsequently lost control and rammed another Kruiser. The Orkbaneis always seen at the side of the Nox Eternus and the Ship's Master is always handpicked as the best of the Knights ErrantModular Conveyor Equus Magnus: The Equus is a transport accorded to the Knights Errant to transport cargo and supplies and as a training/medicae facility for the Black Knights. The ship is of an ancient design that uses a modular system to attach a various amount of standard "space containers" to it. It appears as though similar ships could be attached to one another to form a long chain or to haul larger containers. The current setup has 4 large containers attached to the 4 docking platforms (2 on each side of the vessel). One is used for storage, another is the medicae facility for the Black Knights, the last two are segregated bio-domes that house various environments for Black Knights Initiates to be trained in. It is always with the Nox Eternus. Avenger Class Grand Cruiser Glory of Terra: The Glory was freed when Knightmaster Kromgol destroyed the Space Hulk RagnaOrk as part of his major campaign against the greenskins in M34. As part of the heavily built relationship with the Imperial Navy the refitted Grand Cruiser was tasked to always sail with the Knights Errant. It forms an amount of firepower that rounds out the fleet of the Black Knights. Though very unorthodox for a Space Marine to have an attached Navy ship, it only signifies the bonds of trust forged in the centuries of campaigning made by the Black Knights with elements of Battlefleet Pacificus.

Be prepared for some writing that seems to jump about as I write whatever fluff comes around to me...
Trying to get a basic idea of their organization and a few things that make them "not fully Codex" next.
