Hi, just got in this last weekend. Been out here before. Saw a little ad when I was in the SNCO barracks of all places while searching out some buddies.
Limited 40k experience though I like painting the models. I have a small Space Marine force and used to have a 1,500 pt Space Wolf Army which died horribly in a cataclysmic book shelf collapse 5 years ago while I was off at boot. My fledgling IG company also died then too. So I have lots of bits and a mostly whole land raider.
I also have started in Flames of War and have a background in wargaming WW2. Also a big WW2 buff and reenactor so suffice to say its an area of expertise.
Also a big classic wargaming fiend. I'm talking Avalon Hill bookcase games (like Squad Leader and Wooden Ships & Iron Men).
I do have an interest in Classic Battletech as well and have a elementary understanding of those rules too.
On TOP of all that. I'm a hardcore Tabletop RPG player. I've got over a decade AD&D 2nd experience. Bit less 3.0/3.5 No 4.0. Not a fan much of anything pass classic 2nd Ed. I got Shadowrun 3rd and a large SR4 library and also an extensive library of FFG's Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Dark Heresy (my current fav), and Rogue Trader with future plans for Deathwatch.
AND of course I like beer and pretzels games too like Zombies!, Munchkin and the surprisingly good FFG Battlestar Galactica Boardgame (plays like a sci-fi super cutthroat version of diplomacy).
I guess I can also blurb that I like PC Wargames as well. Dawn of War series, Total War series, and more grognard gaming like Talonsoft's excellent Campaign Series (East Front, West Front, Rising Sun) and Hearts of Iron series.
I'm tired of finding out the week before I PCS places that there are groups of people in my unit or on the base that game. I found out 2 weeks before I left Miramar that 4 guys in my shop play RPGs.
P.S. I'm a /tg/ Neckbeard and proud of it!

Hi, Girene. As for as 40k goes, you'll be well taken care of. This is the best gaming group you could hope for as for as that.
I have always been interested in Flames of War since I saw it in Kadena last year. Very cool rules from what I saw...
I am the Classic Battletech guy with Rob (Darksavior) however we prefer Tabletop rules as opposed to Hexmap rules. I have enough for both.
We also play Dark Heresy sometimes, run by Boyce, but I have a couple of books.
I played Zombies in Kadena last year, and it was a good time. Wow that game can bring a lot of hatred into a group =).
Feel free to email me at work. I am on the global Paterson SSgt Timothy R.

Hey there bub, welcome back to the area. You'd be surprised how many Marines play 40k out here and just don't bring thier stuff because they figure there won't be anyone to play out here. We play a wide range of games here. 100 percent of us play 40K and it's the main staple of our group, but a few of us branch out different ways such as Fantasy Battle, Battletech, RPG's, and Skirmish games. I haven't played Shadowrun in years! Well keep an eye out here for dates and times of our gatherings. The next one is on the 14th, but we don't have a location yet. We're a bit like Nomads when it comes to gaming locations.

Awesome, looks like I have a reason to finish off my "Black Knights."
Of course the gathering would be the day of my first SDO duty in the new unit. No biggie, I'll catch it on the next pass.
It does look like there is an active community here. I'm glad to get involved with anything at the moment. I've been in a 5 year gaming drought where my only contacts have been some real irregular RPG games over the net via IRC clients. But even one missed session sets you back and missing sessions is common in this line of work.
I do happen to have:
10x Tac Squad 5x Devastators 1x Command Squad 2 Dreads 5x Scouts 5x (basecoated) Termies 1x (basecoated) Broken Landraider 1x Commander (unbuilt) 1x Assault Squad (unbuilt)
Got a nice little US Infantry Company in Flames of war, only 1 platoon is finished though. FoW is an interesting rules set and from what I see it does work well in covering nice Battalion sized engagements. I think its fun but I've always been looking for a good tactical level game with only a Rifle Company and supporting elements or even smaller.
And those of you WW2 savvies that noticed I spelled "gyrene" wrong its meant to be GIrene. My nickname from reenactor folk for the fact that we primarily do US Army (GI's) but I'm (obviously)a Marine (gyrene).

Tim literally has that many Power Armor Marines. Plus another 50 Terminators and countless vehicles. It's disgusting man. We'll see how long until he breaks down and finally paints his guys red and starts playing Blood Angels though lol!

And Eric, lol, your army cant be repainted to have a new rules set. Your very lucky. If they came out with a Blue-skinned Ork army that is elite... then I would have the last laugh.
